THE BACKGROUND

A fundraising company was struggling with the traditional door-to-door sales model. Sales were not what they anticipated--even though consumers loved the product. They wondered if there was a better way to sell their product.

THE PROBLEM

Traditionally, fundraising products had been sold by kids door-to-door. However, there were many issues related to this model:

  1. Many parents and teachers were no longer comfortable having students and kids knocking on doors of strangers

  2. It was not safe to have kids collect and handle cash

  3. Kids seemed to be less enthused to go out in their neighborhood and sell

  4. Friends and family who lived out of town were unable to participate or support their loved ones

THE SOLUTION

Noticing the success of crowd-funding for new product ideas and raising money for those down on their luck--we created a new crowd-funding platform unique to schools and youth groups in need of raising funds for their organizations. Key features of the platform included:

  1. Fundraiser Login – The ability to for the fundraising coordinator to setup all fundraiser specifics, including:

    • Customizing logo and color schemes

    • Defining fundraiser goals and dates

    • Mass uploading of participant information

    • Custom creating of unique landing pages for each participant

    • Automated email reminders to participants

  2. Participant Login – The ability for each participant to login to:

    • Customize their landing page with their photo

    • Mass invite their contacts via emails

    • Post invitations to donate on their social media accounts

  3. Donations – Donors are able to support each participant by:

    • Making a donation online, and/or

    • Sharing the donation link with their own social networks

  4. Gift - Each donor then receives:

    • A donation receipt, and

    • A downloadable gift

THE RESULT

The donation platform solved each of the primary issues, including:

  • Kids no longer had to go door-to-door selling

  • Kids no longer had to handle any cash

  • Kids could easily approach all of their contacts in a matter of minutes

  • Family and friends who lived out of town were able to support their loved ones

The platform worked so well that the company is in negotiations to sell to a large company in the industry.
